Membership renewal for 2022/23 season is now available

It's that time of the year already where the season is not far from starting and it is also time to renew your membership at the club. 

This coming year we have a lot of tennis planned for club members! Whether you want to play socially at the Ladies Coffee morning on a Thursday (10am-12pm), Thursday evenings from 6.30pm or Sunday from 2pm - everyone is welcome.

There will be team tennis with an Under 16s Junior team, 2 Ribble Mixed Adults teams, 2 Mens Fylde Teams and Autumn league tennis to come from September for both adults and juniors. 

With the courts being resurfaced this season, we will play summer league tennis on temporary courts/lines and in July, the courts will be finished (final surface painting) ready for the autumn league. 

27/03/2022 - Tennis Court temporary closures for resurfacing

The tennis courts will be closed 2nd & 3rd April for work to be carried out at the courts, prior to the resurfacing. The courts will then be closed 7th – 18th April, with the nets and posts being removed. Temporary lines will be in place for the summer season and all being well in July, the courts will be finished with a 2-tone green paint. 

Please do not use the courts during these dates, even if they are not in use, as we need to ensure the surface is cured before members can play on them. We will let you know asap, once the courts are open for use.

Please note: the court resurfacing is weather dependant and this may change. We will keep you posted on the social WhatsApp group and via email. 

02/02/2022 - Great News... We raised enough money!!

After a lot of hard work by Ron (our treasurer), generous donations, grants & savings, we have enough money to resurface the courts. This will be done this season, keep posted for updates on when the courts will be closed and the opening night!

The Longton Tennis Club AGM will take place on Tuesday 15 March, at 8pm in the Longton Sports and Social Club. We will email members soon, with the agenda and the opportunity to raise any questions or if you would like to get involved in running the club, this is your chance!

16/09/2021 - Ladies Coffee Morning starting 23 September!

We are now starting a ladies coffee morning, 10-12am each Thursday. All ladies are welcome (both members and non-members) and we hope to attract new members to join the club. Our coach Dec will be around to organise the morning, with coaching and match play. 

It's £5 per session, with drink and biscuits included. Please contact Dec Acornley to register your interest.
